Woman, be aware of your age!

Your chance of getting pregnant decreases with age. This is primarily because the number of eggs and their quality are reduced. The woman’s egg cells are already formed in the fetal stage. At birth, the ovaries contain approx. 2,000,000 immature egg cells. After birth, no more egg cells are formed, and at puberty the number of egg cells has dropped to approx. 500,000. A very small proportion, approx. 500 of the egg cells undergo a full maturation to ovulation while the woman is of reproductive age. Loss of eggs is thus an irreversible process, which is independent of birth control pills, previous pregnancies, abortions, breastfeeding and other factors.
