When is there a risk in pregnancy?

A woman’s fertility declines after she turns 35. The probability of achieving a pregnancy naturally is only approx. 5-6% when the woman turns 40, and at the same time the risk of spontaneous abortions increases.

What factors affect a pregnancy?

The woman’s age is one of many risk factors for pregnancy. Other risk factors for a pregnancy are:

  • Chronic diseases such as diabetes or arthritis.
  • Metabolic diseases.
  • Unhealthy lifestyle (poor diet, too little exercise).
  • Medicine consumption.
  • Alcohol, nicotine and other drugs.
